Happy Hump Day, guys! I had the privilege of working with a new tee shirt company that is centered around “GIVING VOLUME TO THE VOICE OF BLACK PEOPLE + BLACK CULTURE” called #ImBlackToo.

The visionary behind the company is Shannan E. Johnson who graduated with a BA from Texas A&M and her MFA from Florida State. She is a Former Junior Creative Executive at the Syfy Channel (helped producers and writers take their ideas from pitch to production and she is currently a performing artist. Her past credits include Step Afrika!, First National Tour of Ghost, the Musical, Sister Act the Musical, How to Quit Your Day Job, Sole Defined, Narrator at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and she is the Founder and Co-Director of a nonprofit for teen girls of color in Houston, TX: The Mademoiselles.

Shannan: “I started the company because I believe in black ownership and entrepreneurship and wanted to find my place in it. As I get older, putting my energy into someone else’s pocket just isn’t appealing. It’s time to invest in me.

There you have it folks!
